08/11/2004 "Now they are really lying about the war"

The republicans announced today that they are going to use the troops in Afghanistan to fight their republican war on drugs.

Well I can now vote against Bush in good conscious. I previously supported him because I want human and women's rights established in Muslim countries and I know only revolution can accomplish this.

War and revolution were necessary in the US to establish our country and to free our slaves. Blood is the price for freedom. The instrument is the sacrifice.

But do you know how much money and how many troops we waste in Columbia on this so-called war on drugs? While marines in Iraq don't have metal doors on their HUMVs? While we do not have enough troops in Iraq or Afghanistan? And how many lives ruined in the US so the big boys can be employed by the government (and collect Govt benefits) for the war on drugs, aka the war on poor people. This is the first way the republicans waste our social security and Medicare money for their profit.

The republicans are up to their cheap, lousy, double-speak again,telling a new twist on the old drug war lie. Now supposedly the altruistic, Afghanistan farmers are using their poppy income to fund terrorists. So the republicans bankrupt small farmers in foreign countries, and pour pesticides on a country, destroying their environment. This is the second way the republicans waste our social security and Medicare money for their profit.

This whole foreign drug war effort is about our government buying pesticides that cannot be used in the US because they are illegal. But under the cover of war on terrorists, Bush can subsidize the US pesticide companies by buying their poison to dump on poor countries who are desperate for help from the US. The futile goal never, over 15 years, accomplished in Columbia is allegedly to destroy poppy crops. And so they will dump pesticides on people, animals and farmland every year, year after year in Afghanistan just like in Columbia.

We taxpayers will fund the planes, the helicopters, the flight crews, the pesticides, the troops, the consultants, the CIA, the military, the spies, the lies,the prisons and most of all the private contractors. Too late the country will find we are interested only in feeding the corporate gluttons of the republican party, not in actually protecting the rights of women and men in the middle east.

The republicans are now actually exploiting terrorism to feed the chemical companies, the insurance companies, the pharmaceutical companies, the hospital and medical supply industries, the utility companies, the religious tax-free companies (so called non-profits) and the oil producers. They are using troops who should be hunting terrorist to hunt poppy farmers. They will build a generation of people who will hate us for centuries. And this is the third way they waste our social security and Medicare money.

But will the democrats say this? Will they make this war on drugs in Afghanistan a campaign issue? No, they are too busy justifying the war in Viet Nam. The republicans are laughing all the way to the bank.
