Fair Pay Again

Greenconsciousness notes: And while this very important vote will come to the Senate soon, the Chief Pimp from Nevada ((where prostitution is legal and the little pimps run slave brothels)) Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is refusing to accept another democrat vote in the senate, that is Illinois state's former Attorney General Roland Burris. Why? Because it wasn't the person Reid wants. Reid, who is actually doing pay for play more blatantly than Gov. Rod Blagojevich ever did, thinks he is royalty and has the right to choose the people's representatives from any state. After all he is used to treating women and POC as slaves, coming from Nevada, as he does, where money and mob rule. What is relevant about votes for women's rights in this game? They lost Fair Pay a few months ago and no one in the Senate suffered for it. The Republicans will probably get the election they want in Illinois, thanks to oligarchy corporation politics. Read this from a women's rights non-profit.

This is the moment we've been waiting for. The U.S. House of Representatives is poised to act as soon as this week on fair pay for women — and we need your help.

Especially during these tough economic times, women need equal pay for equal work to ensure self-sufficiency and dignity. Please contact your Members of Congress now!

The House is expected to vote soon on the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act — key bills that would give women the tools they need to challenge pay discrimination. The Senate may follow with a vote as soon as early next week.

Please contact your Members of Congress today with a clear message: It’s time to sign, seal and deliver pay equity for all women by passing fair pay legislation immediately, so that President-Elect Obama can sign it into law during his first few days in office.

You can e-mail your lawmakers, or call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121. Ask the operator to connect you to your Senators and Representative. When you're connected to their offices, tell the person who answers the phone:

I am a constituent. My name is ____________.
I urge you to vote in favor of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act, and to oppose any weakening amendments and any motions to recommit.
Thank you for supporting fair pay for women.

Thanks so much for all you've done to help us in this struggle. Together, we'll set the stage for victory.

Sincerely,

Jocelyn Samuels

P.S. This is the moment we've been waiting for. Please e-mail or call your Members of Congress today.
